About the Clinic - Gynaecology
They'll ask you to fill out a patient information sheet on arrival so that all your details are already entered into your chart by the time Dr. Natalie calls you into the consulting room. NKC medical is a "paperless" practice enabling a new level of continuity of care between the team, using the “Genie” practice software. This enables Dr. Natalie to communicate with your referring doctor that same day by letter, not next week.
Then it's into the consulting room for a full assessment of your particular problem and a thorough examination in our well appointed treatment room. This includes a DVD to watch on the ceiling during the examination, and a separate room to change in. There are no white, antiseptic tiles in sight, with the whole experience more rendolent of a day spa, than a doctor's office. Calming lavender wafts through the air, discreet music plays to soothe and distract and fluffy towels are ready to ensure a dignified and comfortable experience.
Depending on your condition, you may be booked for a surgical procedure. This process, often daunting for the unititiated is taken in hand by Debbie and Raelee. They will ensure that you have filled in:
• Hospital booking forms..
• Signed all relevant consent forms
• Filled in an anaesthetic questionnaire
• Received a quote
• Know where to go, and when to go and what to do when you get there.
Dr. Kiesey-Calding operates on alternate Thursday's and Friday's mornings at the Cairns Private Hospital. You will either be admitted through the day unit (link) or as an inpatient (link).
On discharge, you will have a sheet of instructions on what to do, as well as what NOT to do, and be sure of how to obtain help in and out of hours if there is a problem
