Born, bred and educated in England, Michelle completed her nursing and midwifery qualifications in London during the 1980’s.
She immigrated to Australia in 1997 with her husband Adrian and young family (Annabel and Matthew) as a short term adventure that has turned into a long term love affair! For the first 7 years they lived in Sydney before moving to Cairns in 2004 to enjoy the (much) warmer climate and relaxed lifestyle in Far North Queensland.
Michelle has been caring for women and their families during the
very special time of pregnancy and childbirth for over 20 years now,
and couldn’t imagine doing anything else – and we wouldn’t want her to!
As our part-time midwife, Michelle is integral to the support and care of our patients antenatally, and looks forward to also caring for them during her clinical work in the delivery suite and maternity ward at the Cairns Private Hospital. As a busy wife and mother of two teenagers, Michelle is now focusing on expanding her professional role.
Outside her work, she enjoys her beautiful boxer dog George and keeping fit taking him for walks. An avid reader, she is part of a book club that meets monthly for literature analysis, chit chat and the odd glass of wine!
Michelle brings the warmth and energy inherent in her personality to the practice, and is a vital piece of the clinical care team.
